The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has completed its distribution of cash incentives and plaques to nine centenarians here.
CSWDO head Julie Dayaday said in an interview Friday that the house-to-house distribution of the cash incentives and plaques started on June 14 and ended this week, with each centenarian receiving PHP100,000 in cash.
The centenarians are Rosario Aglipa, Panadem Macatondog, Ulpiana Dalumpines, Josefina Sereno, Elizabeth Guerzon, Lilian Carriedo, Felisa Deligencia, Catalina Naraval and Ching Siong Uy.
“The nine centenarians are the first to receive incentives this year,” Dayaday said.
She said that another batch of centenarians will be awarded once the CSWDO finishes the necessary processes for granting the incentive.
“The incentive and plaque were handed over to the centenarian and their families. It is our joy to visit and bring this award to our centenarians here in the city,” Dayaday said.
The distribution of cash incentives aligns with City Ordinance No. 0727-21 Series of 2021, which aims to recognize and honor centenarians from Davao City through the grant of cash incentives.
Dayaday shared that Dalumpines revealed that the key to living to a hundred is maintaining a heart free from anger and worry.
“The other centenarians disclosed that their secret to reaching the age of 100 includes consuming greens and vegetables, reducing salt and preservative intake, and living a happy life,” she added. (PNA)
