A total of 9,000 children aged five to 11 years old have so far been enrolled in the city’s online coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pre-registration program, the city health office (CHO) said Thursday.
Dr. Ted Yu Jr., CHO medical officer, said during the daily press briefer the city government reached the number after the city Covid-19 vaccination team opened the online pre-registration on January 6.
“We have news, in Metro Manila maybe they will start on February 4. So now, we are focusing on our pre-registration. For those 5-11 years old who have comorbidities, they can also pre-register,” he said.
Yu encouraged parents who have children aged 5-11 years old to register their children for the upcoming Covid-19 vaccination.
The official said parents who would want to register their children to go on the link: services.cagayandeoro.gov.ph:8087/vaccprereg and choose category E1.0 for children who do not have comorbidities and category E1.1 for children who have comorbidities.
Dr. William Bernardo, acting city health officer, reiterated that the city government only conducts pre-registration for the particular age group as they are still waiting for guidelines that will come from the Department of Health regarding the vaccination rollout for the pediatric group.
The city has a target population of 574,591 individuals that included children 12 years old and above.
Yu said the number does not include children aged five to 11 years old.
Out of the targeted eligible population, a total of 506,070 individuals or 88.09 percent are fully vaccinated, of which 60,188 have received their booster shots. (PNA)
