Learn how to transform your design illustrations into a three-dimensional fashion collection through Introduction to 3D Clothing Visualization, a short online certificate course that will run for four Saturdays starting May 21, 2022.

Ideal for aspiring designers as well as e-commerce business owners, the course champions sustainable design and fashion in the digital landscape.

The lectures are aided by the simulation technologies of CLO, one of the most advanced, intuitive and cohesive 3D garment design software used by small and big names in the fashion industry.

The program will walk the students through the basic tools of the software and will train them how to navigate through its diverse functions. They will be guided through the process of creating their very own 3D clothing patterns from scratch, including stitching and puckering the details, manipulating the shapes and drafting and editing these patterns. Then, they will apply and test their finished works on the application’s 3D avatar.

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to produce and render their very own 3D garments, which they can use as visuals for look books and social media.

The Introduction to 3D Clothing Visualization is offered by the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. It is one of the latest short course offerings of the innovative institution to elevate the skills and talent of young professionals in the field of design and arts.

It will be facilitated by clothing designer, graphic designer and illustrator Zak Gonzaga. Equipped with over 10 years of experience in the clothing retail business, particularly in major men’s fashion lines, his designs have taken the shape of a range of stylish pieces from graphic tees, polo shirts, jackets, bottoms and swimwear, all the way to accessories.

Gonzaga has rendered his talent as fashion/graphic designer for brands such as Tyler, Memo, Oxygen and Regatta. He likewise served as graphic designer, product development officer and visual merchandiser for Hang Ten and Cotton Project, has designed men’s wear for Folded and Hung and has served as fashion consultant for Mango. Today, he is a clothing designer for a streetwear clothing line based in San Diego.

Gonzaga finished his formal education under the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) Program of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. He is currently sharing his knowledge in fashion illustration and pattern-making as mentor and part-time professor in the institution.

The Introduction to 3D Clothing Visualization is scheduled on four Saturdays, May 21 and 28 and June 4 and 11, 2022. It will be conducted online and will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with combined synchronous and asynchronous sessions.

The module fee for the certificate course is P11,895 for a total of 24 hours of classes.

Participants must have a qualified internet connection and computer or laptop that can accommodate Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, plus basic knowledge in both programs.
