The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has commended the National Printing Office (NPO) for 123 years of reliable service to the Filipino people.
PCO Senior Undersecretary Emerald Ridao lauded the office for its reliability and integrity as it serves as an integral part of the government’s mission to communicate effectively with the people during the celebration of the 123rd anniversary of the NPO at its office in Quezon City on Thursday.
“One hundred twenty-three years is a huge feat for any agency, but especially one with really such a small number of people running such a very large operation,” Ridao said.
“For over a century, you have been the pillar of reliability, of integrity, serving as the cornerstone of our government’s mission to communicate effectively and transparently with the Filipino people, and you should all be proud to be a part of that,” the PCO official said as she addressed NPO employees.
The NPO’s work, she added, is marked by service, resilience and a deep sense of responsibility to the Filipino people.
She commended the agency as it performs the heavy task of printing official ballots and other election forms, including the upcoming 2025 midterm polls.
Meanwhile, NPO Chief Francis Carlo Taparan recognized the contribution of each NPO employee whose unwavering dedication and positive attitude helped shape the NPO throughout the decades.
“The strength of this agency lies in the dedication of its own people. The strong collaboration with our partners and stakeholders, who together, worked tirelessly to maintain the quality of our printing services in the face of ever-changing and ever-challenging times. It is through your skills, passion, and commitment that NPO continues to thrive,” he said.
The NPO serves as the government’s printing arm tasked to produce government accountable forms, official election ballots, the Official Gazette, and other public documents, ensuring that these comply with the quality and security standards required by the government.
It undertakes the printing of information materials for the Philippine Information Agency, the Office of the Press Secretary, and the Office of the President. (PNA)
