The 21 public schools under District 1 in the Municipality of San Remigio are ready to welcome learners as classes open on Monday.
The district covers two secondary schools and 19 elementary schools, including two integrated schools.
District 1 Supervisor Dr. Demar Cahilig said Friday that they are expecting almost a similar number of enrollees as last school year, when they enrolled 1,944 elementary and 1,004 secondary learners.
He attributed their readiness to the “Brigada Eskwela” or the annual school maintenance activity held a week before the start of classes.
Meanwhile, starting this school year, the San Remigio Integrated School in Barangay Baladjay and the Aningalan Integrated Farm School in Barangay Aningalan will offer senior high school (SHS).
Learners at San Remigio Integrated School could proceed to SHS without going to the town proper.
Those enrolled at Aningalan Integrated Farm School in upland Barangay Baladjay no longer need to transfer to Gov. Evelio B. Javier Memorial National High School in an adjacent village for their SHS. (PNA)
