From July to September, more than 1,000 clients across the Caraga region were served by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Mines and Geosciences Bureau and Environmental Management Bureau through the ongoing “Express Permitting on Wheels” program.
On Tuesday in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, officials formally released land titles to 419 clients from various towns. Of these, 17 received residential titles, 396 agricultural titles, and six special patents for school sites.
“Through the Express Permitting on Wheels, the DENR provides faster, more accessible, and more convenient government services by bringing various frontline services directly to the public,” DENR 13 said on Wednesday.
The program was also launched in Butuan City and Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, in July and August.
In Butuan City, 245 clients were served, including 170 who received permits and certificates, such as 46 chainsaw registrations, 74 transport documents, 28 land status certifications, 16 Bureau of Lands Form V-37 issuances, five survey authorities, and one public safety cutting permit.
Other clients received assistance with patent application reviews, land classification inquiries, survey consultations, legal consultations, and notarial services.
During the Butuan activity, MGB-13 served 117 clients through geohazard consultations, certifications, and identifications, as well as Minahang Bayan consultations. EMB-13 also issued 95 environmental permits and clearances to 89 clients.
In August, DENR-13 served 159 clients in Tandag City through certifications and permits. EMB-13 assisted 91 clients, while MGB-13 provided certifications and permits to 17.
Seedling distribution was also part of the activity, with 276 assorted seedlings distributed in Dinagat Islands, 5,438 in Tandag City, and 2,200 in Butuan City.
“To our DENR personnel, partner agencies, and local government units, may this activity remind us of the public service we aspire to provide – helping our people while protecting our natural resources,” DENR Regional Executive Director Ma. Theresa Allen said.
The permitting activity is scheduled to be launched in other provinces in the region within September. (PNA)
