Award-winning broadcast journalist and nag-iisang Igan ng Bayan Arnold Clavio reaffirmed his loyalty as a Kapuso by renewing his exclusive contract with GMA Network on December 3.

Present at the contract signing were GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Public Affairs First Vice President Nessa Valdellon, and Vice President for Public Affairs Arlene Carnay.

Arnold, a proud Kapuso for 35 years, remains a respected figure in public service, delivering impactful news and stories across TV and radio.

He is one of the pioneering hosts of the country’s longest-running morning show “Unang Hirit,” which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. He also co-hosts the radio program “One on One: Walang Personalan” on DZBB with Connie Sison.

Reflecting on his journey with the network, Arnold shared his deep gratitude and unwavering commitment to being a Kapuso, ”With the opportunities na binigay ng GMA management, nakilala na ako wherever I go. GMA 7 is my second home. Kaya leaving GMA Network really didn’t occur in my mind. Ang daming offers until now and I’m thankful din sa blessings, pero I’m happy and content for the support I’m receiving sa GMA 7. Damay ako sa credibility nila.”

He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the trust and support he has received over the decades, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all my bosses, then and now, my fellow workers, on and off camera, at sa lahat ng naging programa ko. I am incredibly grateful for the trust and confidence they all have shown in me. It is a great honor to know that my hard work and dedication have been recognized and rewarded in this manner. Under your guidance and supervision, I became a better person and I continue to grow as a journalist.”

GMA executives couldn’t be more grateful to Igan for his loyalty and everything he’s done for the Kapuso Network since he joined way back in 1989.

“Si Arnold o mas kilala natin bilang Igan ay tunay na kaibigan ng bayan. Natutuwa ako at muli kang nakabalik sa amin matapos ang mga hamon sa iyong kalusugan. Mula sa akin at sa buong GMA Network, ikinararangal namin na nananatili kang isang Kapuso,” said GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon in a video message.

Yalong recounted a personal anecdote about their shared beginnings, “Arnold and I both grew up in Tondo. We know ’yung masa. From these humble beginnings, we got to where we are right now. Dito kasi sa GMA, lahat ng tao, may pag-asa, may pupuntahan— as long as you do what is expected of your job and love your company. Igan is an example of what loyalty is all about. For that, thank you, Igan. Walang iwanan.”

The contract signing was also attended by Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, GMA Radio Operations Group First Vice President Glenn Allona, GMA Integrated News Vice President and Deputy Head For News Programs and Specials Michelle Seva, GMA Integrated News Assistant Vice President and Deputy Head for Integrated News Operations Division Quennie Dimapawi, Assistant Vice President for Radio News Operations and Programming Norilyn Temblor, and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications Jojo Aquio. Colleagues and long-time friends from the network also attended the event to show support for Arnold.

With over three decades of service, Arnold Clavio continues to inspire Filipinos with his dedication to journalism and public service, remaining a true Kapuso at heart.
