To streamline the process for private-sector support, the Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday rolled out the new Adopt-A-School Program (ASP) Platform, alongside expanded investment opportunities in the Visayas.

This is in adherence with the Republic Act 8525 or the Adopt-A-School Act of 1998 and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations.

In a statement, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara said the move seeks to advance transparent cooperation between the government and private partners.

“Under the leadership of President [Ferdinand R.] Bongbong Marcos [Jr.], we are turning goodwill into concrete investments—building more classrooms, empowering our teachers, and ensuring equitable access for every learner,” he said.

Under the new platform, a more streamlined procedure for private investments is set, particularly for corporate sponsors, civic groups, and private donors.

These include transparent project matching, streamlined donation tracking, and direct access to tax incentives.

“Marami sa ating mga kababayan at sa private sector ang gustong tumulong sa ating mga paaralan at mga mag-aaral (Many among our fellow Filipinos and the private sector want to help our schools and learners),” Angara said.

“Ang kailangan lang natin ay bigyan sila ng mas mabilis at mas malinaw na sistema para maging kabahagi ng pagbabago (What we need is to provide them with a faster and clearer system so they can be our partners for change).”

In particular, the expanded investment menu covers specific priority areas for private funding.

These include classroom and learning space infrastructure, safe schools initiatives, and work immersion programs for senior high school (SHS) learners.

Besides the Visayas kickoff, the 2026 ASP caravan will also be launched in Mindanao and Luzon.

Other partner government agencies also have their investment menus to advance cross-sector collaboration, particularly under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

To date, the agency has logged 192 active partner organizations supporting DepEd’s programs and interventions nationwide. (PNA)
