Presidential Adviser for Mindanao Concerns Secretary Antonio Cerilles announced plans Monday to establish a Cagayan de Oro satellite office to streamline the region’s concerns to Malacañang in Manila.
Cerilles revealed the proposal during a press briefing in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur, stating he had already discussed it with the Office of the President (OP).
“If I go home here (Pagadian), my house will also serve as an office,” he added.
The former Zamboanga del Sur governor and Environment secretary will focus on two priority areas: local government affairs through coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and agricultural programs with the Department of Agriculture.
The planned office aims to fast-track Mindanao concerns directly to the OP while working closely with the Mindanao Development Authority in his advisory role.
Marcos appointed Cerilles in March to address Mindanao-specific issues. (PNA)
